Half Square Triangles - Eight at a time |
Videos and helpful resourcesThis week it is an adaptation of the Bear Paw block. We are making a quarter of the block, to complete a full Bear Paw block you would sew four of these together and add a saying strip between them.
These quarter blocks are also really fun to rotate and complete different designs. |
We're trying another HST method this week and this method requires no fabric marking! Four at a time HSTs are quick to sew as you don't start by making the squares, so you can get straight to the sewing. I love this method for using with Charm squares (5" squares). You can just pop a stack next to you and then sew them together.
TIP - Take care with the HSTs once they are cut out as the outer edges are cut on the bias of the fabric, so can be prone to stretching. |
Remember to post your photos using the #signalquiltalong and tag me @paulasteel.quilts and Lisa @modernquiltclub so we can share in your achievements and spread the encouragement.
I hope you've enjoyed the 4 at a time HSTs, and the ease of the Bear Paw block. Remember to check back next week for week 6
